Arden Loewen is an undergraduate student specializing in Software Engineering at the University of Victoria. Arden has a talent for making complex topics accessible, having taught software principles to elementary, secondary, and undergraduate students. In addition to teaching, Arden has led and designed programming competitions, giving undergraduate students the opportunity to enhance their technical skills. These experiences have given Arden the chance to learn several software techniques and become engrossed in the world of visual computing.
Demonstrating strong teamwork and leadership abilities, Arden has collaborated on many successful projects. This led Arden to work with the SOLIDS Lab to collaborate with others to create an application that detects marine life using machine learning and computer vision.
